Small Travel Trailers
Now and again, it might be time to get away from the regular, day-to-day rat race that can be both stressful and busy and instead get out into the outdoors and spend time with your friends and family. It is during these times that small travel trailers can come in handy. Think about heading out to a lake somewhere and going camping and trout fishing with a nice, up-to-date travel trailer with some of the newer amenities like a stovetop. This can be quite a fun and even rewarding outdoor activity. RVs have really taken off in the last several years and there are now trailers for all tastes and styles.
Loading up a smaller type trailer and going out to a campground can be practical and it will also save you a lot in hotel or motel expenses. Accommodations that can be replicated by having a trailer can keep you from spending hundreds of dollars of “rent” when an RV can instead be used over and over again.
These lighter weight travel trailers are specifically made to be light and often times will only weigh around 2,000 lbs and measure around 10 to 12 feet in total length. In reality, a smaller type pickup truck or another smaller family vehicle are able to tow these types of units. These trailers are made to be drawn by these lighter vehicles and the design behind their shape is often made to be aerodynamic and with very little drag when on the highway, this makes them doubly able to be pulled by non-heavy duty vehicles.
When looking at travel trailers that are lightweight for a temporary living space while camping, the small travel trailers are really the best available option. Many of these designs will allow a higher level of comfort and the convenience that small families will find appealing. Even retired couples that don’t have a lot of stuff to haul around and may not have grandkids will enjoy these smaller units because they are easy to haul and very manageable when it comes to cleaning and organizing.
You will definitely be able to camp and sleep as though you are relaxing in the comforts of your own home with one of these trailers that have been slimmed down. The amenities of a small kitchen with the appliances that are similar to a regular kitchen are great to use. Many of these also have bathrooms, sleeping areas that are comfortable and surprisingly roomy and dining spaces that can be arranged to also be entertainment spots are just a few of the pluses of these modern types of trailers.
Although these are designed, engineered and made to be lightweight RVs, these small trailers are many times built to house cooking areas with a refrigerator, air conditioner units, heaters, toilets, showers, tanks for holding potable water and systems for housing electrical panels and units. Many of these trailers will also often times come with the comforts of a slide-out panel that will create a lot of additional area to sleep or dine in.
So if someone is thinking of simply spending time in a campground nearby their home or if they’re actually planning on traveling hundreds of miles to a major campground like Yosemite or Yellowstone, the small travel trailers are a great option and can do things that most campers don’t really realize they can do. For one, these smaller RVs can maneuver into campgrounds and areas where large and wide motorhomes or trailers cannot go. Think about it, campgrounds with tight turns and low hanging tree limbs are difficult to navigate with the larger fifth wheel or tow trailers so looking into a smaller model makes a lot of sense. Turns and corners near other campers can be a huge hassle when towing a big, bulky camper. Constricted trails can cause problems that no one wants to deal with when camping. These vacations shouldn’t be stressful when it comes to setting up the sleeping and eating quarters, otherwise why go camping at all?
When it comes down to buying a newer camper, it is easy to look at different manufacturers and to research their various designs and available lightweight recreational trailers. Keep the smaller types as an option if you are going to start looking at a larger RV to begin with, you may just decide to go with the smaller, lighter, aluminum framed models in order to keep the size down and save on towing time and gas. There are many types to choose from and many styles that will appeal to many different tastes and people.
